Position Summary:
The Lingala Interpreter is responsible for providing in-person and remote interpreting services. The successful candidate should be fluent in English and Lingala. Training on interpreting skills will be provided by House of Languages. This is a per-diem position. A part or full time job might be available for an outstanding candidate.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide in-person and remote consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation in a variety of settings Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards Travel to interpreting assignments in Cumberland, York and Androscoggin counties
Required Qualifications:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Lingala Strong computer skills Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with people of diverse backgrounds Honesty, integrity, and reliability Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle. Must pass a background check.
Desired Skills & Experience:
High School degree or higher Medical or court interpreter training or certification Knowledge of medical or legal terminology
