This opportunity calls for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter with a strong background in American Sign Language (ASL) to provide telehealth interpretation services within an educational setting. The role involves supporting one student who requires specialized communication access during meetings, ensuring effective participation and understanding.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality sign language interpretation in telehealth sessions aligned with student needs. Collaborate during Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to facilitate clear and accurate communication. Support the communication access for one student currently enrolled and requiring specialized services. Maintain adherence to state licensing requirements and educational standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

Valid LARA license for Sign Language Interpretation. Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language. Experience with telehealth platforms and remote interpretation. Familiarity with educational IEP systems and protocols. Ability to work independently within a flexible, itinerant schedule.

Location and Schedule:

Position is based in Hale, Michigan. Contract role starting immediately through June. Approximately 1 hour per week required.

Additional Information:

The assignment is itinerant with consideration for mileage reimbursement. Background checks and standard credentialing processes are mandatory. Collaboration with educational professionals through board meetings and contract review processes will be part of the role.
