Your work will support clinical teams by translating complex medical terminology and adhering to strict confidentiality and ethical standards, all while providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Duties Provide real-time interpretation for medical consultations, examinations, and procedures using in-person methods. Translate medical terminology accurately to ensure understanding across diverse languages. Assist with translating medical records, documentation reviews, and social work reports to support comprehensive patient care. Uphold professional ethics by maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and clinical confidentiality policies. Support cross-cultural communication efforts by applying clinical cultural competency standards to foster trust and understanding between patients and healthcare providers. Collaborate with healthcare teams to achieve HIPAA compliance during all interpretation activities, ensuring patient privacy is protected at all times. Qualifications Multilingual proficiency with fluency in English and at least one additional language. Demonstrated experience in medical interpretation or translation, including translating medical terminology accurately within clinical settings. Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical ethical guidelines, and cultural competency standards relevant to healthcare interpretation. Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging for diverse patient populations across different cultural backgrounds. Familiarity with hospital procedures, medical records management, child protective services protocols, and social work documentation review is a plus. Commitment to professional ethics, achieving HIPAA compliance, and maintaining clinical confidentiality policies at all times. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments while demonstrating excellent customer service skills. Prior experience working within hospital or healthcare settings is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates.
