This contract role, set in an educational environment, requires onsite presence and offers the opportunity to work closely with dedicated teams and diverse learners. You'll play a key role in bridging communication, supporting inclusion, and fostering academic growth throughout the new school year.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Proficiency in ASL and strong interpreting skills, with experience in educational settings preferred Credentials as a certified Sign Language Interpreter or Teacher of Deaf/Hard of Hearing students Understanding of the unique needs of DHH students in a classroom environment Strong interpersonal abilities, flexibility, and a collaborative mindset Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to educational best practices Demonstrated commitment to supporting accessible learning
Role Responsibilities:
Provide interpreting services for students, staff, and educators in various classroom scenarios Support DHH students through clear communication facilitation, both one-on-one and in group settings Collaborate with teachers and special education teams to adapt materials and ensure full participation Assist in developing strategies that enhance learning and social integration for students who are deaf or hard of hearing Help foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment Monitor student progress and communicate insights to educational professionals This is an onsite-only, full-time contract opportunity for the new school year.
