Job Description

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Sign Language Interpreter supporting early learners for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time position, located near Nixa, MO, is designed for dedicated professionals passionate about making a lasting difference. Working 35 hours per week from 8:30am to 3:30pm, you'll serve as a 1:1 interpreter with an enthusiastic 1st grade student, helping to foster communication, growth, and confidence throughout each school day.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) Valid credentials/certification as a Sign Language Interpreter Experience interpreting in educational settings preferred Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism Strong interpersonal and communication skills Compassion, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting young learners
Responsibilities Include:
Providing 1:1 interpreting services for a 1st grade student throughout the school day Accurately facilitating communication between the student, teachers, and peers Assisting with classroom activities, ensuring full access to curriculum and participation Collaborating with educators and support staff to address the student's individual needs Maintaining thorough and accurate daily records Supporting the student's social interaction and inclusion in school routines Take pride in playing a crucial role that empowers young students and creates accessible learning spaces.
