Qualifications and Skills:

ASLPI score of 4.1 or higher required Experience working in schools as a 1:1 interpreter preferred Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and strong knowledge of interpreting ethics and protocols Ability to adapt communication style to meet individual student needs Comfortable collaborating with educators, staff, and families to support student learning Reliable, punctual, and organized with excellent interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver real-time, accurate sign language interpretation for 1:1 student support in classroom and school environments Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers in both academic and social settings Assist in adapting instructional materials and classroom participation as needed Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times Participate in team meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) discussions Provide feedback to education staff on student progress and interpreting needs
