Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract A school-based Sign Language Interpreter opportunity is available in New London, NC, supporting one elementary student during the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time contract position (37.5 hours per week) requires specialized skills and licensure to provide high-quality communication access for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide sign language interpretation services to support classroom instruction and student communication Facilitate effective communication among students, teachers, and support staff Adhere to all state licensure requirements and educational standards Utilize ECATS system for reporting and documentation
Required Qualifications:
Active NCDPI Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) License with current documentation EIPA score of 3.5 or higher Experience using ECATS for educational documentation Valid North Carolina Licensure Previous experience working in school-based interpretation preferred
