Part-time, approximately 20-30 hours per week, primarily on-site
Payment Rate:
$17-$19/hour Position Summary Global Impact Group LLC is seeking a bilingual Business Operations Specialist to support daily work across the company's language services and business operations. This hands-on role combines project coordination with English-Spanish translation, transcription, interpreting, and quality control. The Specialist works under the Business Operations Coordinator, keeps assignments on schedule, and performs language work for which they are qualified. Key Responsibilities
  • Translate assigned documents between English and Spanish while following client instructions, approved terminology, and formatting requirements.
  • Transcribe assigned English or Spanish audio and video accurately, including timestamps and speaker identification when required.
  • Provide English-Spanish interpreting for assigned appointments or calls, following the required protocol and maintaining impartiality and confidentiality.
  • Perform linguistic QC on other linguists' work, checking accuracy, completeness, terminology, grammar, formatting, and client requirements.
  • Document errors, communicate corrections, and verify revisions before delivery.
  • Track requests, work orders, assignments, deadlines, deliverables, and open issues.
  • Coordinate with translators, interpreters, reviewers, project staff, clients, and vendors.
  • Support interpreter scheduling, availability checks, assignment confirmations, forms, and attendance records.
  • Maintain project trackers, QC records, action logs, and other required documentation.
  • Escalate delays, quality concerns, and client issues to Daniel promptly.
  • Help prepare status updates, contract reports, meeting notes, and documentation for invoicing.
  • Follow company procedures for confidentiality, information security, document control, and quality management.
  • Support other assigned business operations as priorities change. Education
  • Bachelor's degree in translation, interpreting, Spanish, linguistics, communications, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant professional experience and demonstrated English-Spanish language skills may be considered in place of a degree.
  • Formal training in translation, interpreting, transcription, or linguistic quality review is preferred. Required Qualifications
  • Professional fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate English-Spanish documents and review translations for accuracy.
  • Experience transcribing audio or video in English and Spanish.
  • Experience providing consecutive interpreting in English and Spanish, in person or remotely.
  • Strong writing, listening, research, organization, and terminology-management skills.
  • Ability to handle several assignments and meet deadlines without losing accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, spreadsheets, shared files, and online meeting tools.
  • Ability to work primarily on-site in Raleigh during the agreed schedule. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in language services, government contracting, or client-facing operations.
  • Relevant translation or interpreting certification or assessment results.
  • Experience with Phrase or another computer-assisted translation platform.
  • Familiarity with glossaries, style guides, translation memories, and QC checklists.
Quality and Assignment Controls Language assignments will be matched to the Specialist's demonstrated qualifications and each client's requirements. When independent review is required, another qualified linguist will review work translated or transcribed by the Specialist. The Specialist may perform QC on work completed by others when qualified and assigned to do so.
