Required Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.0 or higher Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school environment preferred Understanding of elementary-age student needs and school culture Strong interpersonal and communication abilities Commitment to professionalism and confidentiality in all assignments
What Youll Do:
Interpret spoken language into ASL and vice versa for students in elementary classrooms Partner with teachers and staff to ensure accessibility and engagement for deaf and hard-of-hearing students Foster a positive, inclusive environment and encourage student participation Assist with translating classroom instructions, discussions, small group activities, and school events as assigned Support students academic and social-emotional development through effective communication facilitation Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with educational teams The contract runs from ASAP through May 20, 2027, with full-time hours from 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM.
