Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably within a school setting Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification or equivalent highly desired Compassion, professionalism, and adaptability in diverse school environments Ability to collaborate effectively with students, educators, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide precise and culturally appropriate interpretation services for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Assist with communication between students, teachers, and staff Support students access to mainstream educational curriculum Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times Participate in team meetings and contribute to student support plans
