Qualifications and Experience:

Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in a school setting Knowledge of interpreting techniques and Deaf culture Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families Relevant certifications, such as EIPA, NIC, or state licensure (preferred but not required) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

Provide interpreting services for students in classroom and school activities Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and peers Support direct instruction as needed, interpreting lessons, announcements, and school events Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards Participate in educational planning meetings when appropriate Assist in fostering an inclusive environment for all students This contract position offers the chance to work closely with dedicated educators and support staff, all with the common goal of ensuring every learner has access to a quality education.
