Haitian Creole Interpreter - USCIS In-Person Assignments Haitian Creole Language Alliance Buffalo, NY Job Details Contract | Freelance $155.89 - $250.00 a day 1 hour ago Qualifications Simultaneous interpretation English Court Interpreter Certification Haitian Creole Medical interpretation Full Job Description Haitian Creole Interpreter - USCIS In-Person Assignments Haitian Creole Language Alliance (HCLA) is recruiting qualified Haitian Creole ↔ English interpreters for in-person USCIS appointments throughout the United States. This is an independent contractor, assignment-based opportunity . HCLA receives USCIS-related interpreting assignments in different cities and contacts qualified interpreters based on their location, availability, and ability to travel. Assignment Locations Current and potential assignments may include: New York Philadelphia Boston Miami Fort Myers Tampa Orlando Atlanta Houston Dallas Chicago Indiana Texas Los Angeles Other U.S. locations as assignments become available Applicants do not need to live in every listed location. Please indicate the city and state where you currently live and the areas where you are willing to travel for assignments. Responsibilities Provide accurate Haitian Creole ↔ English interpretation during USCIS appointments Interpret faithfully and completely without adding or omitting information Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct Arrive on time and prepared for each assignment Follow HCLA's professional interpreting standards and client requirements Qualifications Fluent in Haitian Creole and English Strong consecutive interpreting skills Professional communication and interpersonal skills Reliable and punctual Previous USCIS, immigration, legal, medical, or government interpreting experience is preferred Interpreting certification or formal training is preferred but may not be required for every assignment Availability Applicants should be prepared to provide: Current city and state Areas where you can accept in-person assignments Maximum travel distance USCIS/immigration interpreting experience Interpreting certifications or training General availability, including weekday availability Whether you can accept short-notice assignments Compensation Compensation is provided per assignment and will be communicated before the interpreter accepts an assignment. Important Information This is not a guaranteed full-time position . HCLA maintains a network of qualified independent interpreters and offers assignments based on client demand, location, date, time, qualifications, and interpreter availability.
