Key Qualifications and Experience:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL), with experience in educational or school-based settings strongly valued Ability to engage and communicate with students with diverse learning needs Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, ASL Paraprofessional, or in relevant roles Familiarity with supporting non-verbal students in classroom environments Commitment to collaborative work as part of a multidisciplinary team Strong organizational skills and the adaptability required in dynamic classroom settings

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver one-on-one sign language interpretation and communication support for a first-grade student Facilitate classroom participation and access to curriculum in collaboration with teachers and support staff Provide ongoing feedback and documentation regarding student progress and communication needs Promote a positive and inclusive environment that supports the students social, emotional, and educational growth Be an integral connection between the student, classroom peers, and instructional team throughout the academic year This is a full-time opportunity, Monday through Friday, offering the reward of nurturing student development and helping to bridge communication access in a self-contained classroom.
