Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Make a daily impact in the lives of middle school students as a Sign Language Interpreter through this rewarding contract position. Located near Ramona, OK, this part-time opportunity offers the chance to work closely with an individual student, facilitating communication and fostering inclusion throughout the school day. The current schedule is from 12:00 PM to 3:30 PM Central, with potential for full-time hours in the future. Both onsite and virtual (VOCO) candidates will be considered, though onsite is preferred.
Key Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter Minimum score of 3.5 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) Experience working in educational or school settings, particularly at the middle school level (preferred) Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) Ability to adapt signing to meet individual student needs and developmental level Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one interpreting services for a middle school student to facilitate equal access to classroom instruction and activities Collaborate with teachers, staff, and special education teams to support the student's educational progress Accurately interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa in a school environment Exhibit professionalism and confidentiality regarding all student and school information Participate in relevant school meetings and professional development, as requested
