Job Description

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Providing specialized communication support through telehealth services, this role focuses on facilitating effective interaction for students requiring American Sign Language (ASL) assistance within an educational setting.
Location:
Yukon, OK Responsibilities:
Deliver sign language interpretation services via telehealth platforms to support student learning and communication needs. Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure clear communication and inclusion for students with hearing impairments. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards and protocols during all telehealth sessions. Adapt interpretation techniques to suit virtual learning environments and diverse student requirements. Document activities and provide feedback to appropriate school personnel as needed to enhance communication strategies.
Qualifications:
Proficient in American Sign Language with demonstrated experience interpreting in educational contexts. Experience working within telehealth or remote service delivery models. Strong understanding of educational terminology and practices. Ability to engage effectively with children and adolescents. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility and reliability in scheduling to accommodate contract assignment durations.
