9673332-97402 Job Description Exciting opportunities are available for skilled Sign Language Interpreters passionate about supporting students in the classroom! Contribute your expertise within a dedicated team that includes Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) professionals and classroom support staff. This full-time, school-based contract position is based in the Eugene, OR, area. Enjoy the ongoing assignment and consistency of working in a set group of school buildings, primarily in 1:1 settings with students.
Key Requirements:
Completion of interpreter training program IEPA score of 3.5 or higher Valid and current Sign Language Interpreter licensure Prior experience working with DHH students in educational settings preferred Strong communication and collaborative skills Reliable transportation to travel between assigned school sites Preference for candidates with references readily available (required prior to interview) Must include zip code and preferred caseload/grade level in your submission for best placement Commitment to maintaining professional standards and confidentiality No virtual-only positions; on-site presence is required
Role Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality sign language interpretation services in classroom and 1:1 environments Collaborate with DHH educators and school staff to facilitate effective student communication Prepare for classroom engagement by reviewing lesson content in advance Foster a supportive and inclusive learning atmosphere Support students access to curriculum and participation in school activities Maintain accurate records as required by educational teams The position spans the full school year with a schedule from late August 2026 through mid-June 2027, offering meaningful continuity with students and staff.
