Job Description

Make an impact in the classroom by supporting communication access for students with hearing differences as a Sign Language Interpreter for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, onsite opportunity offers you the chance to work directly with K-12 students across multiple educational settings, empowering learners and promoting inclusivity through your interpreting expertise. In this dynamic contract role, you will join a supportive team to provide essential interpretation services within school environments. Youll collaborate closely with educators and staff, ensuring students who are Deaf or hard of hearing receive the access and resources they deserve.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid Oregon SLI Certification/Licensure required Proficiency in American Sign Language and English Previous experience interpreting in educational settings, preferably K-12 Superior interpersonal and communication skills Ability to adapt interpreting techniques for different age groups and learning needs Strong organizational skills and reliability for full academic year commitment
Key Responsibilities:
Provide onsite sign language interpretation for students, staff, and meetings Support classroom instruction, one-on-one sessions, assemblies, and school events Foster student engagement and inclusion across diverse learning environments Work collaboratively with special education teams and classroom teachers Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times This role is ideal for dedicated interpreters seeking a meaningful contract position within educational settings for the 2026-2027 academic year.
