Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Bring your expertise in sign language interpretation to a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students in an educational setting. In this contract position, you'll work onsite providing one-on-one sign language interpretation for a 5th grade student in a Life Skills classroom. This role offers a consistent full-time schedule, with 35 hours per week from August 19, 2026, to June 2, 2027, during regular school hours of 7:20 am to 2:10 pm.

Key Qualifications:

Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) Demonstrated experience as a sign language interpreter, ideally in a school environment Minimum EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or above (score required for consideration) Adept at supporting students with diverse learning needs Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with teachers and staff Reliable, punctual, and committed to the duration of the contract

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation for a single 5th grade student, facilitating communication between the student, peers, and staff in a Life Skills classroom Foster an inclusive learning environment through clear interpretation and support Assist teachers and support personnel to address the educational, social, and emotional needs of the student Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct at all times Enjoy working in a close-knit, supportive educational team and see the progress you can make for a student's learning experience.
