Job Description
Overview:
Red Apple Group is seeking a skilled French Translator/Interpreter to facilitate communication during assessments for families receiving Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) evaluations for their child at Sprout Evaluation Center. The ideal candidate will possess excellent language skills in both French and English, ensuring accurate and sensitive translation during the assessment process. This is a contract position and appointment based only, therefore hours will vary weekly. In-person services are preferred, but remote work is also available.Key Responsibilities:
Provide real-time translation during assessments between families and evaluation professionals. Ensure clarity and accuracy in conveying information to families, including explaining assessment procedures, results, and recommendations. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism throughout the assessment process. Collaborate with evaluation teams to prepare for assessments, understanding specific terminology and procedures related to ASD evaluations. Assist families in understanding the assessment process, addressing any questions or concerns they may have. Participate in training sessions as needed to familiarize yourself with assessment tools and protocols.Qualifications:
Fluent in French and English, with strong verbal communication skills in both languages. Previous experience in translation or interpretation, preferably in a healthcare or educational setting. Familiarity with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related terminologies is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.Job Type:
