Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled French Translator to join our dynamic language services team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of both the French language and cultural nuances, ensuring accurate and contextually appropriate translations. As a French Translator, you will play a vital role in bridging communication gaps by translating a variety of documents, including technical, legal, marketing, and literary materials, with precision and professionalism. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to diverse projects that require linguistic expertise and cultural sensitivity. Responsibilities Translate written content from French to the target language and vice versa, maintaining the original tone, style, and intent. Review and edit translations for accuracy, clarity, and consistency across different types of documents. Conduct research on terminology, industry-specific language, and cultural references to ensure precise translation. Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand project requirements and deadlines. Adapt translations to suit the target audience's cultural context while preserving the original message. Maintain organized records of translation projects and terminology databases for future reference. Stay updated on language trends, new terminology, and best practices in translation techniques. Requirements Proven experience as a French Translator or in a similar linguistic role with a strong portfolio of completed projects. Exceptional fluency in both French and the target language, with excellent command of grammar, syntax, and vocabulary. Strong research skills to accurately interpret specialized terminology across various fields. Proficiency with translation software tools such as SDL Trados Studio or memoQ is preferred. Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines. Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and clients across diverse industries. A degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field is highly desirable; relevant certifications are a plus.
