Job Description
Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter - Telehealth Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services within a school setting. This contract position is based in Idaho Falls, ID, and requires proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation to support effective communication for students with hearing impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide accurate and clear sign language interpretation for remote telehealth sessions. Facilitate communication between students, educators, and healthcare providers during virtual meetings. Support educational and therapeutic conversations to ensure accessibility. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions. Collaborate with school staff and healthcare professionals to adapt interpretation services to meet student needs.
Desired Qualifications:
Certification in Sign Language Interpretation or equivalent credentials. Experience in telehealth or remote interpreting within educational environments. Strong knowledge of ASL and deaf culture. Ability to interpret in real-time virtual settings. Excellent communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Flexibility to work contract hours as needed.
