Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. An opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services within an educational setting. This 1099 contract position is based in Springdale, AR, offering a chance to contribute to effective communication in schools by supporting students and educators through remote interpretation.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing accurate and clear American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation in telehealth sessions for students with hearing impairments Collaborating with educators, therapists, and medical professionals to ensure seamless communication during virtual meetings and consultations Adhering to confidentiality and ethical standards while facilitating interactions remotely Preparing for sessions by reviewing relevant information to maintain context and clarity during interpretation Troubleshooting basic technical issues related to telehealth platforms when necessary Desired qualifications and experience: Proficient in American Sign Language with demonstrated interpreting experience, preferably in educational or telehealth environments Familiarity with telehealth technology and virtual communication tools Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times Strong organizational and time management skills to handle scheduling and session preparation Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively support students and staff remotely This role operates on a flexible contract basis under a 1099 agreement, ideal for individuals seeking autonomy and adaptability in their work schedule.
