Soliant is seeking a skilled and dedicated Sign Language Interpreter to join our team. If you are passionate about facilitating communication and making a difference in the lives of students with hearing impairments, we encourage you to apply!
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- MUST have EIPA score of 4.0 and have taken the written portion of the exam
- MUST be listed on the Louisiana Interpreter Registry (LCDC Interpreter Registry
- Dept. of Health)
- MUST have Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf Certification (RID) or NIC Certification
- Experience working as a sign language interpreter in an educational setting preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in an elementary school setting preferred
Responsibilities:
- Provide sign language interpretation services for students in a school setting
- Assist in classroom instruction and activities by interpreting spoken language into sign language
- Support students in understanding and participating in classroom discussions and activities
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure effective communication
