Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A contract position is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services within an educational setting. This role supports communication access for students and staff requiring American Sign Language interpretation via remote platforms.

Sugar Land, TX Key Responsibilities:
Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation during telehealth sessions, ensuring effective communication between students, educators, and healthcare providers. Facilitate understanding by interpreting spoken language into American Sign Language and vice versa in virtual environments. Collaborate with educators and healthcare professionals to prepare for remote sessions and accommodate individual communication needs. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards during all interactions. Adapt interpretation techniques to suit various virtual platforms and technological tools used in telehealth.
Qualifications and Experience:
Proficiency in American Sign Language and extensive experience interpreting in educational or telehealth settings. Familiarity with telehealth technologies and virtual communication platforms. Excellent communication skills and cultural competence to interact effectively with diverse student populations. Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills to manage virtual appointment schedules. Relevant certification or licensure as a sign language interpreter is preferred.
