Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This opportunity seeks a skilled Sign Language Interpreter with telehealth experience to support educational settings. The role is based in Columbus, GA, providing interpretation services to facilitate communication for students and staff in a school environment. This position operates under a 1099 contract arrangement, allowing for flexible, independent work.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver accurate and clear sign language interpretation during telehealth sessions within the school setting. Facilitate effective communication between hearing-impaired students, educators, and healthcare providers. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interpreting assignments. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student accessibility needs. Adapt interpretation techniques to suit various educational and telehealth contexts.
Desired Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of educational terminology. Experience interpreting in telehealth environments, preferably within schools. Ability to work independently as a 1099 contractor. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with relevant laws and guidelines governing educational interpreting services.
