Job Description

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services within an educational setting. This role is based in Dayton, OH, offering the flexibility of a 1099 contract position. The focus will be on delivering high-quality interpretation services to support communication access for students requiring sign language assistance through remote platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide accurate and clear sign language interpretation during telehealth sessions in a school environment. Facilitate effective communication between students, educators, and healthcare professionals. Ensure confidentiality and professionalism while supporting diverse needs of individuals relying on sign language. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of sign language techniques and telehealth protocols. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance service delivery.
Qualifications and Experience:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with certification preferred. Experience interpreting in educational or clinical telehealth settings. Strong understanding of telecommunication technology and remote interpreting best practices. Ability to adapt communication style to various age groups and individual needs. Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.
