Remote Sign Language Interpreter in AZ VocoVision - 4.0 Tempe, AZ Job Details Contract 7 hours ago Qualifications School experience Educational interpretation Certified Sign Language Interpreter Interpretation American Sign Language Interpretation experience within education industry Full Job Description Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter with experience in telehealth services, located in Tempe, AZ. This role supports effective communication within an educational setting, utilizing both in-person and virtual platforms to assist students, staff, and families.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing accurate and clear interpretation of American Sign Language (ASL) during educational sessions, meetings, and telehealth appointments Facilitating communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals and hearing persons in real time Adhering to confidentiality standards and maintaining professionalism in all interactions Collaborating with educators and healthcare providers to ensure accessible communication Assisting with administrative duties related to telehealth interpretation services, such as scheduling and documentation Qualifications and experience sought for this role: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with prior interpretation experience in educational or clinical telehealth environments Familiarity with telehealth platforms and virtual communication technology Strong understanding of deaf culture and effective communication strategies Ability to work independently and manage a flexible contract schedule Relevant certification or credentials in sign language interpretation are preferred Located in Tempe, AZ, this contract position offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful communication accessibility in educational settings through remote and onsite support.
