Job Description

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services within an educational setting. This role is based in Rapid City, SD, and is structured as a 1099 contract position.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing accurate and effective sign language interpretation during telehealth sessions for students and staff Facilitating clear communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals and healthcare providers, educators, or support personnel Ensuring confidentiality and adherence to all relevant policies and regulations during virtual interactions Collaborating with educational and health professionals to support the needs of students requiring interpretation services Desired qualifications and experience: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation with telehealth experience preferred Strong understanding of educational and healthcare terminologies and protocols Ability to manage virtual communication platforms efficiently Excellent interpersonal skills and adaptability to dynamic scheduling needs Previous contract or freelance interpretation experience is an advantage Benefits of this contract position include flexibility to manage your own schedule and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful services supporting student wellness and education through telehealth platforms.
