Get paid to get trained! Remote OK within the state of California only. Fair Housing of Northern California (FHANC) is a non-profit agency dedicated to promoting equal housing opportunities in Marin, Sonoma, Solano, and Napa counties. This is on-call, as-needed work. It is not full-time or regular part-time employment. FHANC is looking for fair housing testers! No experience required. Testers are assigned alias profiles and then call housing providers posing as interested renters or home loan applicants to gather evidence of housing discrimination. After conducting a test, they draft a narrative report of the test. FHANC compares testers' reports to determine if there is evidence of discrimination. Testers are paid $45 for rental phone tests. Testers must have good writing skills, be able to memorize details of their profile, and have computer access and skills. We strongly encourage applications from people of color, people with disabilities, people who receive government subsidies, LGBTQ people, and other people who are members of federal and state protected classes.
