Step into a pivotal role supporting middle school students as a Sign Language Interpreter in a dynamic educational environment. This full-time contract opportunity runs through May 27th, 2027, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact each day by facilitating communication and inclusion. Work closely with two students in a multi-categorical classroom, both sitting nearby to maximize your interpreting support. One student is on the autism spectrum and may exhibit behavioral challenges, but you will focus solely on sign language interpreting while a designated staff member manages behavioral plans. Key Qualifications:
EIPA score of 3.5 or abovethis is strictly required under South Carolinas new regulations Successful completion of the written EIPA exam Minimum of a high school diploma Ability to pass a background check Willingness to sign the SLI Code of Ethics Experience in K-12 settings or comfort working within a multi-categorical classroom is highly desired Strong communication and adaptability skills Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and supporting student dignity
