9681420-29651 Job Description Bring your expertise as a Sign Language Interpreter to a rewarding contract role supporting middle school students in a dynamic multi-categorical classroom environment. This full-time position runs through May 27th, 2027, providing consistent hours (37.5 per week) and the chance to work closely with two students who benefit from your communication skills. You'll primarily be facilitating signed communication for two students seated together for almost all classes, ensuring they have meaningful access to instruction and peer interaction. While one student is on the autism spectrum and may exhibit behavioral challenges, you will focus exclusively on interpretingbehavioral management is handled by dedicated staff. Should you wish to build on CPI or behavioral training, resources are available within the district.
Desired Qualifications:
EIPA score of 3.5 or above, per current South Carolina state requirements (mandatory) Successful completion of the written EIPA exam Minimum of a high school diploma Ability to pass a background check Willingness to sign the SLI Code of Ethics (completed during onboarding) Experience in an educational setting or with multi-categorical classes is a plus
Role Responsibilities:
