Job Description

Overview Join our educational team as a Sign Language Interpreter , supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a dynamic school environment. This role is essential in ensuring students have full access to instruction, communication, and participation throughout the school day. You will provide accurate, real‑time interpretation and help foster an inclusive, supportive learning experience. Compensation Local Candidates (within 50 miles): $55-$60/hr (experience‑based)

Weekly Range:

$2,065.50-$2,250.00 (37.5 hours/week) Travel Candidates (50+ miles away): $2,250/week total compensation Includes hourly wages + travel package Housing and meals included in weekly total Responsibilities Provide accurate ASL interpretation during classroom instruction, meetings, and school activities Facilitate communication between students, teachers, administrators, and peers Support student understanding of curriculum content through real‑time interpretation Adapt interpretation style to meet individual student needs and communication preferences Collaborate with educational staff to ensure consistent communication access Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional interpreter ethics Participate in ongoing professional development and training as required Required Qualifications EIPA score of 3.5 or higher Strong ASL receptive and expressive skills Experience in K-12 educational settings preferred Ability to work onsite Monday-Friday for the full school year Skills & Competencies Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Strong simultaneous and consecutive interpretation skills Clear, accurate communication across diverse educational environments Understanding of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and professional standards Ability to collaborate effectively with school teams and support student success

Pay:

$2,062.00 - $2,250.00 per week
