You'll collaborate with dedicated educators and provide essential access to instruction and interaction for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Qualifications & Experience:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and current certification as a Sign Language Interpreter Experience working in educational settings is highly preferred Ability to interpret in a variety of school-related scenarios, including classroom instruction, assemblies, and extracurricular activities Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver accurate and effective interpretation services between spoken English and ASL Support students during instructional periods, meetings, and school events Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure full inclusion of students in all aspects of the school day Assist in adapting educational materials or communication as needed Maintain clear documentation and uphold district and ethical guidelines
