The upcoming 2026-2027 academic year offers four contract opportunities to interpret in classrooms, ensuring accessible learning for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Successful candidates will be placed in one of several collaborative school communitiesranging from elementary to high schooleach fostering a culture of inclusion. This is a full-time position, with 37.5 hours per week, providing the stability of the academic calendar from early August through late May.

Key Qualifications:

Current proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter Minimum EIPA score of 3.5 Experience interpreting in school settings strongly preferred Ability to facilitate communication for students, staff, and families Flexible, adaptable, and professional demeanor Strong ethical standards and respect for confidentiality Team-oriented mindset with excellent interpersonal skills

Core Responsibilities:

Interpret spoken English to sign language and vice versa for students in academic and extra-curricular settings Support teacher instruction, student participation, and classroom management Assist in bridging communication between students, staff, and families Collaborate with special education teams and share insights on promoting inclusive practices Maintain accurate, timely documentation as needed Uphold student privacy and promote a positive learning experience Participate in school-based meetings and ongoing training opportunities Enjoy the rewarding experience of working in vibrant school environments, contributing directly to student growth and inclusion.
