Qualifications:

Proven experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational environments. ASLPI score of 4.1 or above (required). Hold relevant interpreting certification and comply with state requirements for school-based interpreting. Strong ability to nurture effective communication between students, staff, and families. Commitment to ethical interpreting standards and student confidentiality. Adaptability and teamwork skills to collaborate with educators and support staff.

Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality one-on-one interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Facilitate clear communication between students and classroom teachers, peers, and support staff. Assist in both classroom instruction and extracurricular activities as needed. Adapt interpreting techniques to suit individual student learning styles and educational goals. Maintain accurate daily records and participate in team meetings to ensure consistent student support. Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages student engagement and confidence.
