Hidalgo (McAllen Area), TX (On-site) Full-time | Starting at $48,000+ (DOE) Relocation Assistance Available Position Summary A manufacturing company is seeking a Japanese-English Technical Translator to support communication between Japanese and English-speaking teams. This role focuses on technical interpretation and translation within a manufacturing environment, including production, engineering, and business operations. The ideal candidate has experience interpreting and translating manufacturing terminology, production processes, machinery, and technical documentation. Responsibilities Interpret and translate between Japanese and English during meetings, production activities, and daily operations Translate technical documents, work instructions, manuals, reports, and presentations Support engineering and manufacturing teams with technical communication Prepare meeting minutes, correspondence, and other business documents Coordinate meetings, travel arrangements, and administrative tasks Assist with special projects and communication with visitors from Japan Required Qualifications Professional-level proficiency in both Japanese and English (spoken, written, and reading) At least 2 years of Japanese-English technical translation or interpretation experience in a manufacturing or factory environment Experience translating manufacturing terminology, production processes, machinery, or engineering documents Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting engineering or production teams Experience translating work instructions and technical documentation Understanding of Japanese and U.S. business culture Willingness to travel occasionally between Texas and Mexico facilities
