Qualifications & Skills:

Valid certification or licensure as an Educational Sign Language Interpreter (requirement or eligibility to obtain for the state of Texas) Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Prior experience working with children or within educational environments preferred Ability to interpret classroom instruction and student interactions effectively Strong interpersonal and communication skills Committed to professionalism, punctuality, and confidentiality

Key Responsibilities:

Provide in-person sign language interpretation between students, staff, and faculty to ensure equal access to educational content Facilitate communication during lessons, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities Adapt interpreting methods for various student needs and learning environments Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to support student progress Participate in IEP meetings and contribute valuable insights about communication needs Maintain accurate logs, uphold ethical standards, and support a positive school atmosphere This contract role offers immediate start dates, providing consistency and a welcoming atmosphere for dedicated interpreters.
