JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for individuals who speak both Vietnamese and English fluently. As a face-to-face interpreter (verbal Interpreter), you will use your language skills to assist others during medical, community, social service and other types of appointments. Interpreting with MasterWord, is a great way to help your community. The interpreter relays oral information between speakers of two different languages in a consecutive, and/or simultaneous (if requested) mode. The interpreter understands and abides by all published Standards of Practice and Codes of Ethics for Interpreters.

Immunization records are required for medical assignments. Be friendly and excited to earn money on your schedule! Render messages from one language to another accurately, without omissions and additions, and maintaining message content, context, and style as much as possible. Facilitate effective communication between parties that do not speak the same language by converting one spoken language to another. Exude extreme professionalism through appearance, attitude, punctuality, and posture. Follow ethical codes that protect the confidentiality of information and maintain client confidentiality pursuant to protocols established by the contract, HIPAA and industry standards. Act as cultural liaison when necessary. Must have a High School Diploma. Ability to explain and interpret idiomatic expressions and cultural nuances. Serve as a cultural and linguistic resource to contribute to successful outcomes. Perform duties in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation. Have access to communication tools for prompt responses with the coordinating team (including text, email, and voicemail).

SHIFT:

While we do operate 24/7, most of our assignment requests are during business hours. We need you to be available during business hours, usually these are Monday through Friday from 7am to 5pm.
