Key Qualifications:

Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with a passion for supporting educational access. Hold a VQAS Level 2 or higher, or an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher. Previous experience in a school or classroom environment is highly desirable. Skilled in interpreting in academic settings across a variety of subjects and grade levels. Excellent communication, adaptability, and collaboration skills. Commitment to confidentiality and maintaining students' privacy.

Primary Responsibilities:

Facilitate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and staff through accurate interpretation of spoken and signed language. Provide interpreting services in classroom instruction, school events, parent-teacher conferences, and extracurricular activities. Serve as a language model and advocate for students, helping foster a supportive, inclusive school environment.
