Job Description

Work directly with students who are deaf or hard of hearing and make an immediate impact in the classroom. This contract opportunity is ideal for Sign Language Interpreters passionate about educational access and communication support. You'll be supporting a single student in a school setting, ensuring full participation in curriculum and daily activities by delivering American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation and learning assistance. Experience the reward of accompanying a student throughout their day, facilitating communication and fostering an inclusive environment.
Key Qualifications:
Current certification: Virginia Quality Assurance Screening (VQAS) Level III, an Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher with a passing written test, or a recognized national credential such as NIC Strong proficiency in ASL and experience interpreting in educational settings Ability and enthusiasm to work one-on-one, supporting a student across academic courses and school functions Commitment to confidentiality and fostering a supportive learning atmosphere Full-time availability for a contract from August through June (26/27 school year)
Primary Duties:
