Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English Experience interpreting in a school or educational setting preferred Current national or state interpreter certification (such as RID, EIPA, or state equivalent) Knowledge of educational terminology and protocols is a plus Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Ability to travel and adapt quickly to new school environments
Responsibilities:
Facilitate clear communication between students, staff, and families using ASL and English Support classroom learning, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities Collaborate closely with teachers, case managers, and support staff Maintain confidentiality and accurate records as required by school policy Demonstrate cultural competency and flexibility in day-to-day interactions
