This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to make a daily impact supporting young learners in their educational journey. As a vital communication bridge, youll empower students who are deaf or hard of hearing to actively participate and succeed in their school environment.

Key Qualifications:

Certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (state and/or national credentials preferred) Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Experience working with children, especially in educational or school settings Ability to interpret classroom instruction and facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers Strong interpersonal and organizational skills Commitment to ethical interpreting standards and student confidentiality

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide clear, effective interpretation for elementary-aged students throughout the school day Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and other staff to support student learning Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom climate to enhance student participation Adjust communication styles as needed to match the students language development Assist with preparation or adaptation of instructional materials when necessary Attend team meetings and contribute to educational planning for assigned students
