ESSENTIAL

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary role in translating district correspondence and community communication materials. Provides simultaneous oral translations for district and/or school hearings, meetings, special events and activities. Works in collaboration with others. Participate in District meetings to communicate information and gain feedback and/or direction on a variety of issues. Distribute documents and materials to appropriate staff, students and/or parents.

NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist other personnel as may be required to support them with the completion of their work activities. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent, required. Interpreter Certification required Prior job-related experience preferred but not required. Bilingual and Biliterate (Spanish), required. Experience working in a K-12 setting preferred but not required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to work well under pressure. Ability to work flexible hours. Skilled in advanced language proficiency. Knowledge of the ethics of interpreting or translating. Letters and applications received after closing date will only be accepted and screened if the position remains unfilled.
