This contract position offers full-time hours (Monday to Friday, 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM) where youll work within a dedicated DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) program at the middle school level. Be part of a collaborative community, providing interpreting services that empower student success and inclusion.
Key Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and relevant interpreting experience A minimum 3.5 EIPA score is preferred Previous work in a school setting or with children is advantageous Strong communication and interpersonal skills Adaptability for 1:1, small group, and general classroom interpreting
Core Responsibilities:
Interpret classroom instruction, lectures, and activities for DHH students in both DHH and general education settings Facilitate communication for students in a variety of academic and social situations throughout the school day Support students understanding and participation in classroom discussions, small groups, and 1:1 interactions Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and the broader DHH team to tailor support for each student Maintain ethical practices and confidentiality at all times Benefits of this
