Qualifications:
Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required Consideration given to both certified interpreters and ASL-fluent paraprofessionals Candidates must meet one of the following pathways:
EIPA Pathway:
Achieve at least a 4.0 score on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) and pass the
EIPA Written Test RID Pathway:
Hold National Interpreter Certification (NIC) through RID and pass the
EIPA Written Test Key Responsibilities:
Provide sign language interpretation and translation services for both students and staff in various settings across the district Facilitate classroom communication, school activities, meetings, and special events as needed Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, and administrators to ensure equity and accessibility for all students Work adaptable hours, supporting varying age groups and caseload needs Maintain confidentiality and professionalism to uphold a positive, inclusive learning environment This position begins on September 2, 2026, and continues through June 11, 2027, working 30 to 32.5 hours per week, five days each week. Depending on caseload, youll engage with diverse age groups in a dynamic educational setting.
