Job Description

Provides sign language and manual communication interpretation to support Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in educational settings, ensuring equal access to classroom instruction, activities, and communication. Collaborates with teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success by adapting language to individual needs, facilitating effective communication, assisting with assessments and note-taking, and supporting an inclusive learning environment. Participates in educational planning, team meetings, and conferences, while also assisting with student supervision, data collection, and administrative tasks as assigned. Maintains consistent sign vocabulary and serves as a communication bridge between students, educators, staff, and peers.

Qualifications:
  • Completion of an interpreter training program or equivalent (2 years) work experience and DPI License 884.
  • Must have ESEA qualification or a minimum of two years of college experience (48 credits)
