Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a full-time American Sign Language Interpreter in a dynamic, school-based setting. Two dedicated interpreters are needed to provide in-person support for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing. Position overview:

Contract, in-person role Full-time hours: approximately 36.25 hours per week Year-round placement during school schedule Desired skills and experience: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter within educational settings preferred Ability to effectively facilitate communication between students and staff using ASL Skilled in adapting interpreting strategies to meet age-appropriate needs of students Commitment to promoting inclusion and access in the classroom Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills Must be punctual, dependable, and professional in a school environment Responsibilities include: Interpret classroom instruction and school communications for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students Support participation in academic, social, and extracurricular activities Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to meet individual student needs Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards for educational interpreting Assist during meetings, assemblies, or school events as required This is a chance to foster meaningful connections and empower students to reach their fullest potential through accessible education.
