Job Description

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. A professional opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services within an educational setting. This role supports effective communication for students requiring sign language interpretation, enhancing their access to virtual learning and related telehealth resources.
Location:
Brookfield, WI Responsibilities:
Provide accurate and timely sign language interpretation for telehealth sessions involving students and educational staff. Facilitate clear communication between students, educators, and healthcare providers during remote learning interactions. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interpreting duties. Collaborate remotely with educators and therapists to ensure the delivery of appropriate support services. Document and report interpretation activities as required for compliance and quality assurance.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with proven experience interpreting in educational or telehealth environments. Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote communication technologies. Excellent communication skills and cultural competency in Deaf and hard-of-hearing communities. Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally. Prior experience in school-based interpreting services is preferred.
