Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (e.g., EIPA, RID preferred) Prior interpreting experience in educational environments is highly desirable Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability Ability to foster positive, respectful connections with students and staff
Key Responsibilities:
Provide interpretation services for deaf and hard-of-hearing students in classrooms and school activities Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and administrators to facilitate accessible learning Support individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt interpreting methods to meet student needs Serve as a communication bridge during meetings, assemblies, and extracurricular events Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics at all times
