Assistant / Lighting Tech Wanted - Join Our Team! Custom Fit DJ Services is a professional, client-centric wedding DJ and event entertainment company based in Phoenix, AZ. We're passionate about creating unforgettable experiences for music lovers celebrating life's special moments. We're currently looking for a solid, go-to Assistant / Lighting Tech to join our team and help us deliver amazing event experiences! Are you the Assistant / Lighting Tech we're looking for? This isn't just about plugging in lights. You'll be the right hand to our lead DJ — helping with setup, teardown, and running lighting scenes throughout the night. While the DJ keeps the party flowing, you'll be behind the scenes, making sure every visual moment lands just right.

Personality is key:

We're looking for someone who's dependable, calm under pressure, and easy to work with. You don't need to be the life of the party — but you do need to be the kind of person people can count on. Live events, theater, or hospitality experience is a plus: If you've worked behind the scenes or helped run shows, events, or busy environments, that's a strong foundation — but we're happy to train the right person.

Lighting experience preferred:

If you've worked with uplights, wash lights, or even just basic lighting gear, that's a big plus. We'll train you on our system, but comfort with lighting controls helps.

DJ experience optional:

If you have some DJ experience or you're working on your skills, this role could lead to future DJ opportunities with us down the line.

Tech-comfortable and adaptable:

You'll be working with our lighting gear and helping with basic audio setup. You don't have to be an AV wizard, but you should be comfortable using simple tech and learning as you go.

Energy & Endurance:

You'll need to lift equipment weighing up to 35 lbs and be on your feet for long periods of time — especially at high-energy events and expos.

Weekend availability is a must:

Most events are Fridays-Sundays. We need team members who are reliably available during wedding season (especially spring and fall).

Ready to go:

You have reliable transportation and can get to event venues throughout the Phoenix area. What will you be doing? Loading in gear with the DJ and helping set up sound and lighting before guests arrive Staying on-site to manage lighting cues and assist during key moments (grand entrance, speeches, etc.) Tearing down and loading out gear at the end of the night Occasionally helping at wedding expos Why Join Custom Fit DJ Services?
